The Georgia Shellfish Growers Association (GSGA) was established in 2011 in response to a need for united industry representation. Currently the GSGA represents approximately 90% of the shellfish growers operating within the $ 1 million “green” industry that inhabits the pristine estuaries that comprise Georgia’s 100 mile long coast. Our mission is to advance the Georgia shellfish growing community through innovation, education, and collaboration with academic, industry, and government organizations.

To accomplish our mission, we have several objectives:

  1. To provide opportunities to develop relationships amoung our members

  2. To advocate laws and regulations that impact shellfish aquaculture

  3. To educate the public of the shellfish aquaculture industry

  4. To provide a forum to discuss industry problems and share experiences
